Last morning in DC

Tried to catch a few more sites before we drove off. Plus there is parking available early Sunday morning! WWII memorial was amazing. Michael has more pictures to blog. And the MLK memorial was also amazing. Both very moving. And one last pic from last night - Christmas tree was lit while we were out for dinner.

National archives and the national gallery of art

Big day. Started with the Capitol building tour. Then danielle realized we could just go the national archives without a reserved ticket. So we rented scooters and each of us scooted there w a kid in front. Then we lost Sarah’s jacket and doll! So we rented the scooters and re-scooted our steps and found them! Then stayed on the scooter and parked near the national archives. And we walked in with no line! So we got to see the bill of rights, constitution, and Declaration of Independence so easily! The across the street to get lunch at the cafe in the sculpture garden where michael lost his hat and sunglasses. Danielle went back and found them! Then to the national gallery of art where danielle almost left the bag of sweatshirts two times. Clumsy day :)

the blog broke so i'm posting all the pictures in this one post.

The security guard let the kids go close to the rooster (which was saw from the street two times!) since it’s in a book the kids read (spy school). You can see the Capitol building in the distance and our scooter path. And we are pointing to our shadows on the street below.

Tour of the Capitol Building

Statue from the state of New York. The dome is metal! Who knew?

The desserts at the cafe are awesome.

Pictures in front of the Supreme Court.
