Casey is really into sitting on couches and chairs
And opening her birthday gifts from grandma and granddad and aunt Anthea. (And opening her mommys birthday gifts) Stuck a bow on her head a la nanny Leslie.

Eating with a fork
Wait for it. She gets the food on the fork and feeds her self. What fun and messy times we are in for!

Had a good flight. Took a while to get home from the airport but Casey was in good spirits. Here is a pick of Casey eating banana with a fork. And sleeping on me when we got home. Sweetness.

Today Casey took two tiny steps! This video is of her standing by herself, also exciting!

Casey turned 1! 12 months old!
Casey was born on March 15th at 4:46 pm, so we did some low key celebrating on Friday and Saturday. Friday was very emotional for me, as memories of her delivery and the past year surfaced. It was so nice to celebrate with friends on Friday and family on Saturday, Casey played the part well (except for not wanting to eat her birthday cupcake, how funny is that!).
At 12 months,
Casey can:
-furniture cruise and walk using push toys, and using moms hands for balance. Today she even pushed her new toy with just one hand as she walked next to it. Our days are numbered!
-sign for more, all done, milk (she did it once yesterday in front of a witness), wave hello and goodbye, blow kisses, knock.
-babble, the last few days have been so funny (I'll post a great video later)
Casey likes:
-LOVES putting clothes, scarfs, toys, up on her head and around her shoulders (and neck, we are careful!). Seriously, she can play with a pair of socks or a scarf for 20 minutes doing this.
-yogurt and most dairy, even tried milk and is ok with it.
-nursing (despite a 2.5 day nursing strike a few weeks ago! We survived it).
-sucking the wash cloth in the bath.
-people and other kids - she loves seeing other kids in the playroom, or playdates, and their moms, she will crawl into their laps (no separation anxiety just yet, and definitely not shy)
-stacking her toys and mimicking her daddy play with toys in a very silly way
-buttons (on toys and in elevators)
-books, she will sit and read books (and babble sometimes) for 10 minutes at a time by herself.
Casey dislikes:
-having her face washed, especially after eating.
-eating - we need to entertain and trick
